The last 24 hours have brought a surprising amount of noise on the subject of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Well, now we also find out which phones with this CPU are already confirmed, either officially or unofficially.
First of all we know that Qualcomm will hold the presentation event of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October in Hawaii, as it has done in recent years with its predecessors. Then recently rumors from China confirmed that Xiaomi 15 will premiere this CPU, followed by OnePlus 13 and iQOO phones shortly after. I know that ASUS and Nubia usually issued claims to be, if not the first, then at least to be the second or third brand with the new CPU.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 it will bring improvements in performance and especially in AI capabilities. Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire recently revealed that the new chip comes with Oryon cores, which are also found on the Snapdragon X Elite chipset meant for PCs. It seems that 6 such new Oryon cores are in store for this chipset. The main cores, the powerful ones, the so-called Prime, will reach a record frequency of 4 GHz, compared to the 3.30 GHz of the predecessor.
The new chipset will be based on TSMC’s 3nm technology.
