At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event held in Barcelona, Samsung captured the public’s attention with the presentation of its new device, the Galaxy Ring. The event, known as an important platform for innovations in mobile technology, was where Samsung unveiled its device aimed at monitoring health and active lifestyles.
The Galaxy Ring, first introduced in January at Galaxy Unpacked, stands out for its sleek and modern design, with a dark metal body and strategically placed sensors on the inside. Although it was not available for testing during the event, users had the opportunity to closely observe its design in a specially arranged showcase, writes CH Tech.
What features does the Galaxy Ring come with?
Samsung announced that the Galaxy Ring will be available in three color variations and will interact with the Samsung Health platform, which is also due to be updated. The device will include advanced health monitoring features such as a 24/7 heart rate monitor, an SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels, a sleep tracker and other tools for monitoring physical activity. The possibility of integrating a blood pressure monitoring function is also rumored.
In addition to the Galaxy Ring, Samsung also emphasized the expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) features, announcing that they will be available not only for existing devices, but also for new product categories. The Galaxy Book 4 series laptops will get “smart productivity” features, while the Galaxy Watch 6 series watches will benefit from “smart health”.
Smart health features include My Vitality Score, which provides users with personalized information based on sleep, daily activity and heart rate, and Booster Card, which helps users monitor and achieve their health goals.
