a visionary platform and subscriptions…

--

For years, the global video game industry has been a multibillion-dollar business, supported internationally by enthusiasts who carefully monitor the announcements of major developers or the activity of third-party, associated service providers. According to statistics, global revenues from the games industry together exceed the sums generated by world music and cinema. Game releases from top game developers routinely sell millions of copies and dominate year-end global rankings. The global interest in new technologies supporting this industry is evident. At the same time, optimizing the way terminals run increasingly complex games with increasingly sophisticated graphics is one of the main points of interest of contemporary users.

It is easy to understand why the latest announcement by the American giant Nvidia generated new expectations among enthusiasts, representing an important step forward in the gaming experience, including for Romania. The American company has introduced three new games to its super-cloud dedicated to gaming, GeForce NOW, along with new subscription options, all supported by next-generation technologies. With a user base exceeding 20 million members, the GeForce NOW service can be considered a real gaming club, instantly transforming any connected device – be it laptops, desktops, Macs, TVs, Android devices, iPhones s or iPads – in a powerful gaming platform. The platform solves the problem of cumbersome downloads and updates, eliminating the need to install large files locally, or the need to have a high-performance system equipped with the latest components.

One of the main advantages of GeForce NOW is its compatibility with a wide range of devices, including PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets and even smart TVs. Users can access their game library from any location, enjoying superior graphics and smooth gameplay without the need for powerful local hardware.

GeForce NOW offers several subscription options, each offering access to different features and benefits. The Free subscription allows access to the platform, but with certain restrictions such as limited playing time and waiting time to access the gaming servers. The Priority subscription, available at EUR 10.99/month, offers premium hardware support as well as RTX ON, and access to gaming servers is a priority. Regarding these servers, the user from RO has several viable options such as Sofia, Frankfurt and Warsaw, locations very close to our area that offer a very good average latency of approximately 31ms.

The Ultimate subscription (€21.99/month), the latest and most advanced, includes all the benefits of the Priority subscription, GeForce RTX 4080 hardware, access to NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex technologies plus support for high-quality resolutions such as 4K and 120 frames per second.

Diablo IV and Overwatch 2, two hits for gaming enthusiasts

Through GeForce NOW, users have the option to run over 1,800 games that are always up-to-date, so they can spend less time waiting and more time playing. The platform is connected with online stores to allow streaming of already purchased games, significantly improving their performance and relieving the core devices of the processing effort. Top games like those from Activision Blizzard, with tens of millions of fans worldwide, recently entered the GeForce NOW cloud. We remind you that at the end of last year, after a tumultuous period of negotiations, Microsoft took over the American game company, completing the company’s largest gaming acquisition, worth 68.7 billion dollars. Part of a 10-year partnership between NVIDIA and Microsoft, two of the company’s most popular games, for which gamers have been eagerly waiting for years, Diablo IV and Overwatch 2, are now available on the Nvidia-backed platform.

GeForce NOW members can use the Steam or Battle.net versions of Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 on almost any device, benefiting from the graphics processing provided by a GeForce RTX 4080 platform in the cloud. Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 follow the recent release of the legendary Call of Duty, the first Activision game to appear in the Nvidia cloud. In addition, the GeForce NOW portfolio contains many of the most popular games for PC, titles from Steam, Xbox and titles supported for PC Game Pass, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, GOG.com and other digital stores. Furthermore, the GeForce NOW platform is updated weekly, with new games added every Thursday.

A one-day ticket to the world gaming universe

Access to this universe of cloud gaming has become much easier with the introduction of one-day subscriptions, available on the platform starting from February. These allow players to test out all the premium benefits before deciding to purchase longer-term subscriptions, such as one-month or six-month subscriptions, which offer better value.

One-day subscriptions provide 24-hour access to all features reserved for Priority and Ultimate members. Day Pass users can experience RTX ON for supported games with Priority and Ultimate Day Pass. Those with the Ultimate Day Pass benefit from exclusive access to innovative technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, Ray Tracing and NVIDIA Reflex. The Ultimate Day Pass is available for €8.79, while the Priority Day Pass costs €4.39. The 24 hours of play begin immediately after purchase.

State-of-the-art technologies for cloud gaming

In a booming industry at the intersection of technology and entertainment, investments in innovative solutions are constant, always anticipating the spectacular leaps recorded in this field. Whether they are beginners, casual gamers or hardcore enthusiasts, they are constantly interested in the new generations of hardware, software and accessories that can provide the most immersive gaming experiences. One of the most dynamic players in this market, NVIDIA, continues to push the boundaries and expectations of the cloud gaming industry. The Ultimate subscription, powered by a GeForce RTX 4080 graphics, takes GeForce NOW to a higher level, using G-SYNC technology to significantly improve cloud streaming performance, minimizing latency to ensure the most dynamic gaming experience and possible fluency.

By adding the new 60, 120 and 240(FHD) fps streaming options for GFN Reflex mode, the gaming experience in the cloud becomes almost indistinguishable from that on local terminals. In addition, mobile users get an incredible boost to 1440p resolution on Android phones. With these improvements, players will enjoy a gaming experience at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, with support for NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex technologies, on any device with a screen and a solid Internet connection.

G-SYNC cloud technology raises the bar even further, minimizing latency and providing support for monitors with variable refresh rates, being fully optimized for G-SYNC compatible monitors. With Cloud G-SYNC enabled, GeForce NOW will dynamically adjust screen refresh rates to match streaming, ensuring the smoothest cloud gaming experience available today. NVIDIA Reflex support is available for the best games on GeForce NOW, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Alan Wake 2 and more.

Mobile phones are becoming PC gaming platforms

With GeForce NOW, any device, including a phone, can be turned into a high-performance gaming platform. Gamers who prefer to play on mobile can adjust the streaming resolution to 1440p on Android devices, offering stunning and vibrant graphics suitable for the most complex games. Users of the platform will be able to turn any Android device into a portable gaming device, benefiting from support for quad-high-definition resolutions (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), as well as improved keyboard and mouse support. By simply using a USB-C docking station, gamers can connect an Android phone to a gaming monitor or a 1080p/1440p TV, while benefiting from a keyboard, mouse or gamepad.

Using the GeForce NOW Ultimate subscription, where servers are equipped with GeForce RTX 4080 graphics, Android phones become true portable platforms, providing an incredible experience for the latest triple-A PC games, such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Finals and Monster Hunter: World. In gaming, fantasy has no limits. Nvidia looks to the future of streaming gaming, exploring a technological universe where external displays are connected to mobile devices. In a recent demo at CES, the games Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2 were streamed from GeForce NOW servers in Los Angeles to a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone connected to a 1440p monitor in Las Vegas.

Regardless of the subscription you choose, the GeForce NOW service promises to give you uninterrupted access to your favorite games, regardless of whether you are at home, at the office or on the go. The only condition is to have free time, a device with a screen and a good internet connection.
