Samsung is preparing to launch a more affordable version of its Galaxy S24 series, known as the Galaxy S24 FE. Although the South Korean manufacturer has yet to officially confirm the existence of this device, its presence has now been verified through an entry in the database of a UK telecom operator.
The smartphone was spotted in the operator’s listing under the model code SM-721U. Additionally, Android Headlines spotted various other model codes such as SM-S721B, SM-S721W, SM-S721N and SM-721U – the latter being identical to the one found in the UK carrier’s listing.
The SM-S721B variant is assumed to be the global one, while the SM-S721W, SM-S721N and SM-721U will be targeted at the US, Korean and Canadian markets respectively.
However, aside from these details, no other source has provided any additional information about the Galaxy S24 FE.
However, previous leaks suggest that the smartphone could be equipped with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display, a generous 12GB of RAM and storage options between 128GB and 256GB. A 4,500 mAh battery is also circulating, promising excellent autonomy.
These specs fall within expectations for the FE line, which Samsung typically positions as a more affordable alternative to its flagship S series.
Although the technical details are still unknown, the S24 FE is expected to borrow some features from the recently launched Galaxy S24, but at a lower price.
When will it be released and what to expect
As for the release date, it remains shrouded in mystery for now. However, based on previous releases of the FE series, it’s reasonable to expect a late 2024 unveiling, perhaps at a Samsung event dedicated to the S24 FE.
