Until recently, Apple’s plans were to sell between 700,000 and 800,000 Vision Pro headsets this year, analysts believe.

Now, Kuo says, the company has lowered its estimate to 400,000 to 450,000 units sold this year.

This, the same analyst believes, is due to much lower demand than the company expected. The main reason for this drastic drop in demand would be the $3,500 price tag.

In this context, Apple has decided to change its plans for the development of future versions, with a cheaper variant now expected sometime after 2025.

The Vision Pro VR headset has impressed with its technical capabilities, but the high price is a real barrier to its adoption.

Currently, the company’s priority seems to be the development of AI capabilities, which will begin to be introduced into the products sold, including the iPhone, from the fall of this year.
