Jaqueline Cristian (25 years old, 73 WTA), coming from the qualifications, prevailed against the 2021 Roland Garros champion after two hours and 6 minutes of play.

Krejcikova (28 years old, 27 WTA) dominated the first set, won 6-2, but then the Romanian made a perfect second set, winning to zero, although her opponent still offered her a pretty good reply.

Jaqueline Cristian continued her excellent evolution in the decisive set, won 6-2, after five consecutive matches.

Their only previous match was won by Krejcikova, 6-1, 7-5, in January 2022 in the round of 16 in Sydney.

The Romanian secured a check for 51,665 euros and 95 WTA points, and in the third round she will face the winner between the American Danielle Collins and the Serbian Olga Danilovic.
