Ioan Andone retired from coaching and moved to Spain.

The former champion coach with Dinamo and CFR Cluj has a home in Spain and noted that the prices are much lower than those in Romania.

“In Spain, I spend less money than in Bucharest. It’s more expensive here! Honestly! Fees, taxes, electricity… Here, I pay 2,500 lei for electricity per month. In Spain, I pay 210 euros for electricity every two months and I four bedrooms. I have everything there, I have refrigerators, air conditioning, electric radiators,” Andone told Gsp.ro.

Also, Andone explained that the area where he lives is full of Romanians.

“There are a lot of Romanians there. There are 170,000 Romanians in Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba, Marbella and Malaga. It’s a very large community. A church is also being built, funds are being collected. An Orthodox church, with a Romanian Orthodox priest. I was I was also at the service two or three times. I was curious. Until now, the Romanians rented a church each, but the vast majority are Catholic.

Generally there are young people there, and I have friends who have construction companies, car workshops. I didn’t think I could get used to it there, but especially in the winter it’s gorgeous. I never saw snow there! But I’m two hours from Sierra Nevada, you can go and ski as much as you want,” Andone said.

According to official data, approximately 650,000 people of Romanian origin live in Spain.
