Audio recordings of the candidates from the Coalition – PSD Mayor to the PNL adviser: “I will execute you from the face of the earth!” I’m going to beat you up and fuck you”

“I’m telling you on the phone: I’m going to beat you up and you’re going to fuck yourself,” the deputy mayor with mayoral duties addresses a council. The registration was made during the meeting of the Local Council in Şimnicu de Sus commune, Dolj county, the councilor claims. The mayor denies this. Former party colleagues, the councilor and the mayor, the two are now counter-candidates for the leadership of the locality: the vice-mayor from the PSD side, and the councilor from the PNL side.

“- When I slap the PSD the day after tomorrow, I will execute you from the face of the earth!

– What to do with the PSD, you are excluded from the PSD, you still can’t believe it.

– I f*** f***. [….]

– You have a sexual problem, I’ve told you 200 times!

– You should control yourself!

– Since Monday, now, I’m starting to take care of you!

– Why are you threatening me?

– Well, I’m holding on to you, to your head. […]

– I’m telling you on the phone: I’m going to beat you if you fuck yourself.”

These are the lines captured by a recording during the discussion between the acting mayor Laurentiu Ifrim and the local councilor Sevastiţa Bora.

The woman claims that the dialogue was held during the Local Council meeting on January 9, 2024, in the commune of Şimnicu de Sus, Dolj county.

Șimincu de Sus is a commune 8 kilometers away, a quarter of an hour by car, in the north of Craiova.

The councilor says that she made a montage of the meetings of April 28, 2023, May 31, 2023, December 20, 2023 and January 9, 2024 to demonstrate that the acting mayor insults her instead of answering her questions. “At almost all the meetings, insults are addressed to me unworthy of a man who leads a town hall”, she claims, in a dialogue with HotNews.ro.

The mayor: “What to do if they are disbelieved”

“There are no recordings of the meetings. They are collected from different parts, they are manipulated! But it doesn’t bother me, what to do if they are disbelieved”, mayor Laurentiu Ifrim tries to defend himself, contacted by HotNews.ro.

Sevastiţa Bora and Laurentiu Ifrim are currently party colleagues, both registered in the PSD. In the June 9 elections, they will be counter-candidates from the parties that make up the governing coalition: the incumbent mayor will be supported by PSD, and the councilor – by PNL.

“It all started when the former mayor and the former public administrator of the locality were suspended following a decision of ANI, in 2022, when the vice-mayor Laurentiu Ifrim took over the duties of mayor. The new administration was not able to complete the projects started by the former mayor, so I, in the Council meetings, started to ask him about these things”, said Bora in a dialogue with HotNews.ro. “All my questions were about projects, and that didn’t sit well with him.”

“It was going wild!” versus “I’ve been challenged!”

The local councilor claims that the mayor deliberately chose to offend her: “He was going wild! Either at the beginning or in the middle of the meeting, depending on the agenda, because I was raising questions, I didn’t want to vote blindly. The administrative code says that we must be answered either in writing or verbally, but not with swearing”.

Mayor Laurenţiu Ifrim claims that he only responded to challenges from the local council, which allegedly referred to his family. “I was challenged, please believe me. And I think that you too, when referring to your family, use more unorthodox words”. The PSD councilor says that he will sue the councilor, but after the elections, because “then I will have more free time”.

Councilwoman Sevastiţa Bora states that she has already filed a criminal complaint, shortly after the meeting of the Local Council on January 9, 2024.

“He threatened me with death and I was afraid. They probably called him to the station, because there was a period when he calmed down. But the insults continued at the next meeting”, concluded the woman.

• After the publication of the recording in which the local councilor from Șimnicu de Sus, Sevastiţa Bora, is insulted, the reporters were contacted by the local PNL councilor Cosmin Pasăre, who assumed part of the words. “I said, “The dead are my bulangioaice!” I also received a warning for this, according to the regulations. The maximum penalty was 1,000 lei, and I paid that too, because I assumed it. There are many of us who lost our temper in front of this person and it’s a shame to blame everything on one person. So, I said the part with the “bulangioaicele”. The rest belongs to the mayor”, explained PNL councilor Cosmin Pasăre. He also said that he will no longer run for the position of local councilor from the PNL after Sevastiţa Bora was accepted by the party as a candidate for the Şimnicu de Sus mayor’s office.
