eMAG, by far the largest online store in Romania at the moment, has decided to bring them to the immediate attention of millions of Romanians before Easter 2024, a warning that we should not easily overlook. In the this page on the eMAG website, we have detailed the serious threats that exist on the Internet due to the numerous cyber attacks, which can leave us without money very quickly, if we are not careful.

eMAG officially talks about the fact that its image is used in various phishing campaigns, without the store knowing beforehand, various entities assuming the identity of the company and its employees in order to steal Romanians’ personal information. According to those from eMAG, these people can ask us for our personal data, or data about bank cards, passwords for accounts and even much more than that.

eMAG says that these cyber attacks can take the form of emails, SMS messages, messages on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, or even cloned websites, each with texts created specifically to mislead us. The information published by eMAG in this pagealso indicates the fact that in some campaigns it is possible to promote even obtaining huge profits through investments, which of course is not related to the store.

eMAG says that some of the most serious risks facing victims who fall prey to criminals involve money theft, identity theft, or other financial or personal damage, and the implications for each can be vast. eMAG recommends us not to comply with any requests from strangers, regardless of where we receive them and how real a message seems to be, especially if we are asked for personal data, because the store does not do that.

eMAG recommends that we activate the 2-step authentication system on the website, so that our accounts cannot be stolen by strangers, and it is good to follow this advice, in order to have our accounts completely protected from criminals.
