President Klaus Iohannis submitted his request for retirement from the “Samuel von Brukenthal” National College in Sibiu, which has already been confirmed by the Presidential Administration.

President Klaus Iohannis is about to turn 65, having been born on June 13, 1959, which is also the retirement age for men, according to the law.

“He has 42 years of work and 10 years of presidency. From there it has the highest index in the grid, 12 average salaries. In my opinion, from there they accumulate around 4 pension points per year. That is, he collects 40 points from the salary he got from the presidency.

He still has the years of teaching and managing the Sibiu County Inspectorate, where the salaries were not very high, I think he gets about 22 points.

If we collect 40 points from the presidency, with 22 points from the high school, with 25 points from the City Hall, I think that Mr. President will get about 103 points, a pension of approximately 8,400, or even 9,000 lei”explained Anton Hadăr, leader of the “Alma Mater” National Federation, exclusively on Antena 3 CNN.

The chair of Physics professor at the “Samuel von Brukenthal” National College in Sibiu has become available, after approximately 27 years in which the position was blocked by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis. He taught there for 19 years.

The list of positions available for tenure in Sibiu county was recently published, and among them is the physics department at Brukenthal College, with teaching in German, which requires 18 hours of teaching, representing a full department.

This position is included in the list of vacancies for employment for a fixed period of 4 years and can be filled by a candidate with a permanent position, who must obtain a grade or average of at least 7 in the Entitlement examination.

The Presidential Administration has confirmed that the President of Romania has submitted his request for retirement. “The President initiated steps provided by the legislation in force for submitting the retirement file for the age limit”.

He will most likely give up his pension

The SNB unionists warned last month that the new pension law, which enters into force on September 1, 2024, prohibits the accumulation of the pension with the salary until the age of 70.

“The new pension law establishes, in practice, the prohibition of combining the pension with the salary until the age of 70, even if it refers to the possibility to choose between the pension and the continuation of the activity”stated the NBS in a statement.

As this year’s presidential elections take place on September 15 (first round) and September 29 (second round), most likely the president of Romania will give up his pension, receiving only his salary.

In addition, if his candidacy to NATO is accepted, Klaus Iohannis will still have a salary.
