After a break of several years, Google launched a new tablet last year. It’s called the Pixel Tablet, and with its debut the company took the concept of Nest smart speakers and bundled a charging dock with magnetic pins for it. Well, we learn that in 2024 the tablet is due to receive a new variant, one that will ship without such a dock in the package. What do we know about her?
It seems we are talking about the same tablet Pixel Tablet, with no changes in either name or specifications. It will bring 128 GB of storage in the basic configuration, and it will sell for 446 euros. In the configuration with 256 GB of storage it would cost 553 euros in Europe.
For comparison, the Pixel Tablet sells for 579 euros on Amazon DE in the basic version, with a charging dock included. It is worth noting that the amounts mentioned in the leak do not include VAT or other taxes, so it is possible to talk about higher prices for the variant without a power dock.
If we take into account a 19% surcharge applied in Germany, we get prices of 529 euros (128 GB respectively 659 euros if we talk about the variant with 256 GB of storage. In other words, we are talking about a total reduction of approximately 50 euros for the version without dock included.
The tablet has a USB-C port, so it can be charged using any power supply with PD technology. We also learned that Google also has accessories ready with the launch of this tablet. It would be a case with a keyboard and an active stylus. We don’t know many details about them, but soon they would be presented.
It’s unclear if the dockless tablet and these accessories arrive before or during Google I/O 2024. So it remains to be seen when they will debut.
