Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu reacted, on Thursday, to the statements of the mayor of District 1, Clotilde Armand, telling her to get a good lawyer because she “obviously broke the law”.

Asked in a press conference in Timişoara how he comments on the statements made by the mayor of District 1, Clotilde Armand, when submitting his candidacy for a new mandate, the prime minister replied: “I am not commenting, she is a lady, first of all. In my opinion, he should get a good lawyer, because he clearly broke the law. To take money as a mayor, from European funds, I have never heard of it until Mrs. Clotilde”.

The Mayor of Sector 1, Clotilde Armand, told Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu on Thursday that she will not back down and will fight PSD-PNL and the “interest groups” around them.

“I have a message for Marcel Ciolacu: Marcel, look at us carefully: We are the ones who will send you back to the pretzel shop. I am waiting for you here. I stand unmoved in the face of the PNL-PSD lynchings paid for with public money and in the face of the mess you made against the residents of District 1. You can merge, you can bind yourself with chains, you can also put Klaus Iohannis as a candidate for District 1 , that we will not give you permission to steal this City Hall. Today, here, we are all united to fight with you and the interest groups around you, with the state institutions that you use for electoral purposes against those who still believe that this country is not you and your combiners”, he said the mayor of Sector 1.
