A large number of people led the police officer Cristian Jalbă, who ended up in a terrible motorcycle accident on Easter Sunday, on his last road. He was joined for the last time by colleagues from the services for special actions from Brăila, Vaslui and Vrancea, as well as 40 motorcyclists, who accompanied the funeral procession along the entire route, from the “Three Hierarchs” Church to the “Eternity” Cemetery.
Tears, a mountain of flowers and military honors. This is what happened, at only 41 years old, to the Galați policeman Cristian Jalbă, a fighter in the Special Actions Service of the IPJ, who died in a terrible accident on the cliff on the first day of Easter. All of Cristian’s colleagues took part in Thursday’s funeral, but also many former fighters, now retired, the entire Galati Police command, colleagues from other services, relatives, acquaintances and friends. Along with them, 40 motorcyclists, current or former employees of the MAI from the police, gendarmerie and fire departments, as well as fighters of the special services from Brăila, Vrancea, Vaslui and the Service for Special Interventions and Actions (SIAS) from Bucharest . After the funeral service, which took place at the “Three Hierarchs” Church, the funeral procession started on the last road, towards the “Eternity” Cemetery, following a route that included Roșiori – Brăilei – Gheorghe Doja streets – George Coșbuc boulevard. Cristian Jalbă was buried with military honors, officiated by the honor guard of the Galati Gendarmerie. The policeman left behind two children. God rest him in peace!
Investigation into manslaughter and manslaughter
The policeman’s death is now the subject of a criminal case before the Prosecutor’s Office at the Galati Court. Investigators are investigating for manslaughter and culpable bodily harm to establish the exact circumstances in which the motorcycle driven by the police officer collided with the Mercedes car, driven by a 25-year-old man. According to the preliminary conclusions, the car driver wanted to turn from lane 1 towards the Church “St. Gherman și Casian” from the Upper Cliff, but would have cut the path of the motorcyclist who was coming on lane 2. The latter violently collided with the pillar of the car and suffered injuries incompatible with life, dying at the hospital, after doing several cardio-respiratory arrests. The woman behind him was also injured, but not life-threatening. The driver of the car, who, ironically, was soon to become an officer, being a student in the last year of the Police Academy, escaped unhurt, being protected by the car’s safety systems.
