Together we build a community to be proud of

Liberal Nicușor Roșca is the candidate of the National Liberal Party for the position of president of the Dolj County Council. Roșca resigned from the position of sub-prefect of Dolj county, creating a long-term administrative project with strategic planning, focused on the development of local communities.

Reporter: Why did you decide to run for the position of president of the Dolj County Council?

Nicușor Roșca: I decided to run for this position because I want to contribute to the development of Dolj County and to improving the lives of its residents. I have solid experience in local public administration and I am convinced that I can bring about the necessary changes at the level of Dolj county. As a graduate of the Faculty of Horticulture, with a master’s degree at SNSPA – public administration and a doctorate engineer in horticulture, I held the post of prefect of Dolj county during the most difficult period not only of Romania, but of all mankind.

I was later appointed sub-prefect and I managed, from these two positions held in the county administration, to create a real picture of the economic-social context in which we find ourselves. Therefore, together with my colleagues from PNL Dolj, I created an administrative project with which to come before the people of Dolj and which would ensure the development of the community.

Reporter: What are the main goals you want to achieve, if you are elected president of the Dolj County Council?

Nicușor Roșca: My main goals are related to infrastructure, education, health and economic development. I want us to invest in the modernization of roads and transport networks, develop the education and health systems, attract investments and support the local business environment to create jobs and raise the standard of living of the inhabitants of Dolj County.

Precisely because the town halls in the county do not have specialists for drawing up projects with European funding, I want to establish regional centers for consulting in obtaining European funds at the Dolj county level. They will be subordinate to CJ Dolj and will provide support and guidance for projects aimed at improving infrastructure, public services and the business environment. Through these centres, local communities will be motivated to develop their potential and improve their quality of life. These centers could be of great help to local authorities, town halls and the community as a whole. They will offer specialized consultancy services for the submission of funding applications, for the development of development projects.

Reporter: What is the priority of your administrative program and that of the PNL Dolj team?

Nicusor Roşca.: Expanding the gas supply network is an important step towards ensuring easier access to energy and a more comfortable living environment for our community. With the help of this expansion, we will be able to bring natural gas into our homes, thus providing a safe and efficient source of energy to all residents, regardless of where they live. I talked to a local woman from Plenița the other day, and it was clear that all her life she liked to take care of the household. Her only regret is that she doesn’t have gas in the yard yet. I promised him that I would take care of this.

But I don’t want to neglect the development of the infrastructure in the educational institutions of Doljene either. Sustained investment in the system is needed. Children are the future of this country and we must work for them now. I do not deny that there are well-equipped and modernized schools that provide good learning conditions for students. However, there are also schools with poor infrastructure, which face problems such as lack of furniture and teaching equipment, depreciation of buildings or lack of qualified staff. Many students from rural areas face difficulties in accessing education, due to the long distance between their localities and schools, lack of transport or financial resources to ensure a minimum standard of living, to continue their studies in larger cities. In conclusion, the situation of rural schools in Dolj county reflects the problems of the education system in Romania, which must be addressed and resolved to ensure equal access to education for all students, regardless of the environment in which they live.
