The streets and courtyards of Lelești village, Buntești commune, were flooded on Wednesday afternoon, as a result of the recent heavy rains. Incidentally, an orange flood code was issued on the Crișul Pietros river, which crosses the town.
Images of the water rushing through the streets were captured by the frightened locals and published on the Dumitraș TVD Facebook page. “Year after year the same story. With notifications to the City Hall and ABA Crișuri… our yards are flooded”, the people of the area reported, according to the same page.
We remind you that, on Wednesday afternoon, the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management issued a code orange warning regarding Crișul Pietros and the tributaries downstream of Pietroasa, valid until midnight.
“As a result of the rainfall recorded in the last hours, the forecast and the propagation, there may be significant runoff on slopes, torrents, streams, flash floods on small rivers with possible severe local flooding effects and significant increases in flows and levels with possible overflows of the FLOOD LEVELS on the small rivers in the hydrographic basins: Crișul Pietros (tributary of the Crișul Negru river) – tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Pietroasa, Bihor county”it was stated in the warning issued by the INHGA.
