The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) has issued the construction permit for the electrification and rehabilitation project of the Alesd – Hungary border lot within the Cluj Napoca – Oradea – Episcopia Bihor railway line.

The location of the railway works subject to authorisation, with a total length of 46.74 km, is located in Bihor county. The Construction Authorization is issued for works worth 1.96 billion lei.
On Lot 4, out of the total of 47 kilometers, there will be a new double line on an 18 kilometer section.
The railway highway between Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and customs with Hungary is 166 kilometers long, several bridges have exceeded their lifespan (over 100 years), the general condition is degradation with landslides, and the installations have a pronounced physical and moral wear and tear, being at the critical limit of inclusion in the technical conditions, notes the Ministry of Transport in the Foundation Note of the project for the approval of the technical-economic indicators.
