News, 06.05.2024, 9:39, ISU Vrancea: This morning, around 06:20, a call to the single emergency number 112 announced a fire in Mera commune. 3 crews from the Focșani Fire Department and SVSU Odobești and Mera moved to the indicated place in the shortest possible time. When the crews arrived at the scene of the intervention, the fire spread to the entire house in an area of ​​approximately 50 square meters.
Unfortunately, the charred body of a 60-year-old man was discovered inside the home.

Following the investigations carried out, it was established that, most likely, the fire was caused by an improperly placed chimney or not thermally protected from combustible materials.
