The plane tree tiger is causing great inconvenience to Albaiulians who wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather outside and spend the day after Easter outdoors, in Alba Iulia. Lace bugs are extremely annoying and their stings bothersome.

The lace bug, better known as the sycamore tiger, is an insect that has reappeared since the beginning of April in Alba Iulia with the rise in temperatures, once again causing dissatisfaction among the city’s residents.

Last year, Albaiulians noticed the appearance of extremely annoying insects in several areas of the city. Lace bug bites are annoying and apparently cannot be controlled by classic methods/disinsection.

The insect has now reappeared in Alba Iulia, the warm and humid weather favoring its appearance. The insect is recognized for its distinctive appearance, having a coloration similar to that of a tiger, and for its habit of feeding on the sap of trees, especially sycamores.

Last summer, the lace bug invaded the parks and neighborhoods of Alba, and this year it seems to have returned since April, with the sudden warming of the weather.
