Avram Gal, the politician who sold “golden burgers” in Cluj spends Easter in prison. Now he has to eat a package he received from home

After boasting of selling gold-leaf burgers at astronomical prices, Avram Gal is now spending his Easter holidays behind bars, with a package delivered to his home.

The former head of the Câmpia Turzii PSD, Avram Gal, known especially for being the patron of the Transylvania Steakhouse where “golden burgers” were sold, was sentenced to 5 years in prison, after receiving a 400,000 lei bribe to intervene in addition to the management of the National Company “Unifarm” SA, owned by the Romanian state, to facilitate the purchase of protective products during the COVID pandemic.

PSD leader Câmpia Turzii flaunted his opulence on social media and went viral after promoting a burger with gold leaf that costs 6,200 euros. Now he has to eat a package he received from home. Avram Marius Gal is spending Easter behind bars.

Avram Gal said about the former director of Unifarm that he is a security guard and that he “summons him to the lot”, while about another director from the state company he said that he has her “in his portfolio”. All these lines were used to convince the director of a medical equipment company that he could get him a lucrative contract.

Gal asked the owner of Dyomedica CND 600,000 lei and some Miele appliances to intervene and resolve the contract with SC Unifarm SA.

Until the recent conviction, Avram Gal was the president of the Câmpia Turzii PSD, the president of the New Life International Evangelical Association and an associate of the Transylvania Steak House restaurant in Cluj, which sells hamburgers with gold leaf.
