The Electoral Bureau rejected the list of PUSL candidates for Local Council District 1, after finding the repetition of the same names, but with different signatures, in about a third of the lists of supporters. The decision of the Electoral Office of Sector 1 can be appealed.

The decision was taken unanimously by the members of the Electoral Bureau of Sector 1.

In total, the Electoral Office invalidated 1,420 signatures out of the 3,425 submitted by PUSL, according to the decision.

“The Humanist Social Liberal Party submitted a list of supporters for the candidacy for the District 1 Local Council of the Municipality of Bucharest, which it completed by 11:59 p.m. on the last day of submission, according to the final report, the total number of files was 343.

Checking the lists of PUSL supporters for the candidacies for the District 1 Local Council of the Municipality of Bucharest, I reported irregularities and invalidated a number of 142 files out of a total of 343 files, each of the 142 files having 10 signatures, therefore I invalidated a total number of 1420 signatures, found on these pages a glaring series of irregularities, such as: duplication on several lists of the same person’s name, with the same identification data (year of birth, address, CI series, CI number), but with different signatures. At the same time, different names of the people who appropriated the collection of signatures, but with the same identification data, were identified,” the document consulted by G4Media states.

Following the invalidation of the 1,420 signatures, the list of PUSL supporters was reduced to 2,005 people, below the threshold established by law.

Therefore, the Electoral Office rejected the list of PUSL candidates for the District 1 Local Council.

PUSL is the party founded by Dan Voiculescu and now led by the executive president Cristian Popescu Piedone.
