PNL Dolj contested the PSD candidate at Valea Stanciului City Hall, the appeal being upheld by the court.
The representative of the National Liberal Party in the Valea Stanciului Constituency Electoral Office filed an appeal against the candidacy of Gîngioveau Ionel Ovidiu, former mayor of the commune. The motivation of the appeal was based on the fact that the person in question has a criminal record and was not rehabilitated according to the law.
Gîngioveau Ionel Ovidiu was convicted by Criminal Sentence no. 119/2020, pronounced by the Segarcea Court, to a two-year prison sentence for committing the crime of abuse of office against public interests. It was also ordered that the execution of the sentence be suspended under supervision for the duration of a four-year probationary period. This criminal sentence remained final by non-appeal on September 12, 2020.
PSD Dolj’s decision to support a candidate with criminal problems at the head of a locality betrays, in fact, a mode of operation that undermines the integrity and trust in the local public administration.
PNL Dolj will not tolerate any deviation from the law and undertakes to defend the right of citizens to participate in free and fair elections.
