A road accident with casualties occurred on Ștefan cel Mare street, from Roman, after a man allegedly passed out at the wheel.

“On May 1st, at around 1:20 p.m., the police officers from the Roman Road Bureau were alerted to the occurrence of a road event, on Ștefan cel Mare street, in Roman municipality.

Following the investigations carried out by the police, it emerged that, while a 65-year-old man from Bucharest was driving a car, on the indicated road sector, he allegedly collided with a car traveling in the same direction opposite, subsequently ricocheting into another parked car.” – the Neamt Police sent

According to the statement of the 65-year-old man’s wife, he would have heart problems and would have passed out while driving.

“The driver was removed from the car by firefighters, who found that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

Resuscitation maneuvers were immediately started. Later, he was picked up and transported (under resuscitation) by the SMURD TIM crew to the Romanian CPU.

A 61-year-old woman, a passenger in the same car, required medical attention, being picked up by the SMURD (EPA) crew and transported to the Roman CPU.

Two other women, 32 and 50 years old, from the other car, received medical care at the scene of the event from the SAJ crews, later being transported to the Roman CPU.” – ISU Neamț transmitted

The police are continuing the investigation into the crime of culpable bodily harm.
