Nicusor Rosca: Investments in agriculture are fundamental for the development of Dolj county because agriculture is one of the most important branches of the local economy. Considering the county’s agricultural potential, it is important to support local farmers and invest in the modernization and diversification of the agricultural sector. These investments can bring an increase in agricultural production, the competitiveness of local farmers and implicitly the economic growth of Dolj county.
Representative: What are the measures you intend to take to support the farmers in Dolj County?
NO: In order to support the farmers of Dolj county, I intend to implement several measures. First, I will work together with local and central authorities to ensure financing and facilities for farmers, to increase their access to resources and modern technologies. I will also support the development projects of agricultural infrastructure and agricultural cooperatives, as well as the promotion of local agricultural products on domestic and foreign markets. At the same time, I believe that associations in agriculture represent one of the most important elements that contribute to increasing performance and productivity in this field. They allow farmers to consolidate their resources and improve their competitiveness on the market, but also to benefit from more opportunities for development and access to funds. One of the biggest advantages of associations in agriculture is represented by the increase in the bargaining power of farmers in front of suppliers and buyers. By joining forces, they can obtain better prices for the inputs needed for agricultural production and negotiate advantageous contracts for the sale of their products.
Representative: But in order to make a profit, farmers must market their products. How do you intend to promote traditional products from Dolj County?
NO: In order to promote traditional products from Dolj county, I will support local producers in obtaining certification for traditional products, and then I will promote these products at the local, national and international level. I will collaborate with local authorities and the private sector for the organization of fairs, festivals and events dedicated to the promotion of traditional products from Dolj County. I will also encourage the consumption of local products through information and education campaigns for citizens.
