At the request of several Timișoara companies interested in identifying new possibilities for cooperation on the Turkish market, the Timiş Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture organized an economic mission in Istanbul between April 22-26, led by Cristina Coroian, CCIAT president cabinet director.

The ten representatives of Timișoara companies participated in a business forum and B2B meetings, organized in collaboration with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, where each Romanian company had discussions with three or four Turkish partners interested in doing business with Romania. At the same time, for two days, Timișoara companies visited the 14th edition of the IBAKTECH exhibition, the second largest in Turkey dedicated to the bakery-pastry and confectionery sector.

Meetings were held with exhibitors in the fields of: machinery, equipment and utensils; food products – chocolate, ice cream; professional coffee machines; Food Additives; packaging machinery, other related fields.

The economic mission took place in the context of the collaborative relations promoted by CCIA Timiș with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC), one of the largest chamber organizations in Europe, with over 640,000 members, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the president of CCIAT, Florica Chiriță, and his counterpart Şekib Avdagiç, the president of ICOC, in Istanbul, on May 16, 2022. The signing of the collaboration agreement was the result of the two working visits made by the president of CCIA Timiș to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, in September 2019 and February 2020 – visits aimed at identifying opportunities and concrete cooperation projects.
