River residents on Uliului street, affected by serious landslides, reproached the City Hall for patching up the street for years, without thoroughly intervening so that the artery does not get worse

--

The residents of Uliului street, affected by serious landslides, asked the City Hall, at the meeting of the City Council on April 29, to thoroughly intervene in the area so that the situation does not happen again. People reported that they reported the problems from no. 90 as early as 2020, but the measures taken by the municipality were superficial.

“At number 90, the problem is from 2020, when a huge hole appeared in front. I have reported it several times and it is fixed, but the cause is not fixed. Asphalt was thrown in ignorance without thinking that in geo studies it is written to avoid water coming into contact with the soil because it takes it downhill. There we need a retaining wall, storm sewers and drains,” said one of the residents. The people asked for the establishment of priority interventions, such as the redevelopment of Alexandru Donici Street and stopping the water from flowing downhill from this street.

In the case of Alexandru Donici Street, which goes up towards the Hoia forest, the residents have been asking for asphalt and modernization for several years.

Present online at the meeting of the Local Council, having left the city, mayor Emil Boc explained that an expertise will determine the technical solutions that will be implemented to restore Uliului Street.

“The expertise will tell us for what reason and what type of drilled pillar or what technical solutions will be made available immediately. Until then, however, together with my colleagues, I made a note of findings, asked experts for proposals, found alternative travel routes for citizens, ensured with the local police information for those who wanted to know what happens in the future and people have a alternative solution at Tăietura Turcului to be able to get home until the situation with this landslide is resolved”, said Boc.
