Urban Playfield, in the Citadel of Alba Iulia. Urban Playfield, an urban festival of playful sports for children and adults, will take place on the weekend of May 18-19, in the Citadel of Alba Iulia.

Within the Urban Playfield, participants will have access to a wide variety of sports and activities that involve movement: volleyball, tennis, basketball, rock climbing, foot pool, badminton, roundnet, chess, football, table tennis, cornhole and other surprises full of surprises energy.

On each day of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy activities and special events following a general program that will include, depending on the location, specific programs and games and/or special guests.

• 10:00: Official opening of the event;

Throughout the day you can enjoy the following activities: play guests, sports demonstrations presented by local clubs, contests with prizes, modern dance classes, cheerleading and zumba, children’s activities and other surprises

The public will have at their disposal trucks with local food and drinks, as well as relaxation areas;

• 21:00: Official closing of the day’s program.

Urban Playfield will also be an opportunity for sports clubs in cities to present their performances and athletes, and for the community to get to know them.

Urban Playfield, a 10-city tour dedicated to tabletop play and sports

Urban Playfield, the festival of playful sports for children and adults, goes on tour and brings back play and movement in the middle of Romanian cities.

Initiated in Cluj-Napoca, by the Sports Festival and Transylvania Open team, the Urban Playfield project will now have a nationally expanded form – an itinerant event that unites 10 cities in the country through play.

Each host city will have a weekend dedicated to it with a variety of sports activities and entertainment for all participants, regardless of age.

The Urban Playfield journey will start in Alba Iulia, in the wonderful city of Alba Carolina. Here, on the weekend of May 18-19, the local community is invited to start the movement.

The tournament will continue in Cluj-Napoca, on the weekend of May 25-26 and in Brașov, on June 1-2. The organizers will later announce the future cities where Urban Playfield will arrive.

“Urban Playfield is a young, fresh, energetic event, through which we promote the unwritten right to play. Whether you are young or old, we want to help you rediscover the freedom of movement and play that we can enjoy with our loved ones anywhere. It may be behind the block or in the center of town.

We give people the chance to participate in classic activities and have a weekend full of fun and movement, connect with friends or family, and at the same time realize that there are perfect places for such activities in their city. We started this event in Cluj-Napoca, and now we are taking our mission to the country, in as many communities as possible that we expect to play”, said the organizer of Urban Playfield, Mirel Alexa.
