Nelu Pavel declared, after signing the protocol with PNL, that he chose to collaborate with the liberals because he would not have found any form of dialogue with PSD Gorj president, Mihai Weber, although he would have brought the social democrats about 4,000 votes, in the last election.

The leader of the Pro Europe Roma Party ranks 10th on the PNL list for the Gorj County Council.

“I made a political agreement with the liberals and the majority of the Gypsies and Romanians, I know that when I give my word, I try to respect it, because that’s how I was raised and educated, and for me it doesn’t go in two parts, when it’s black, it’s black, when it’s white, it’s white. And I thought of making a change for the county, because that’s what I considered and I took it as appropriate for the good of the county and for the Gypsies and Romanians, because the county is not working and I consider that I made a beneficial choice for the good of the county. It is known that the electorate of PSD, the leftist party, was won thanks to gypsies and pensioners. I mean, we were a second-hand minority, they used us only to reach their proposed indicators for their own good, not for the good of the county. (…) PSD does not have a left-wing doctrine, but personal interest”, says Nelu Pavel.
