The car services in the county, controlled by the labor inspectors from Olt. Several irregularities were found

The employees of the Olt Territorial Labor Inspectorate carried out, between April 23 and 26, 2024, the National Campaign to verify the way in which the legal provisions regarding the conclusion and execution of individual employment contracts are respected, as well as the legal provisions regarding the minimum requirements for safety and health at work by employers who carry out their activity in the field of “motor vehicle maintenance and repair”. Thus, controls were carried out at car services in the county, irregularities were found both in the field of labor relations and in the field of health and safety at work.

According to Bogdan Țucă, spokesperson of ITM Olt, 11 controls were carried out in the field of labor relations, following which seven non-conformities were found for which remedial measures were ordered.

And the most frequent deficiencies found in the field of labor relations were the failure to transmit within the legal term the elements of the individual employment contract, no later than the day before the start of the activity of the employees in question; non-compliance with the legal provisions regarding the record of working time and subjecting this record to the control of labor inspectors; failure to keep, at the workplace, copies of the individual employment contracts of the employees working in that workplace; not granting the increase for the work carried out on Saturdays and Sundays.

In the field of safety and health at work, nine other controls were carried out, ten non-conformities were found for which remedial measures were ordered and ten warnings were issued.

“The most frequent deficiencies found in this field were the lack of the provisions of the own occupational health and safety instructions regarding the use of chemical substances in the topic of periodic training; lack of security signs; incomplete training in occupational safety and health,” said the ITM representative.

The objectives pursued by the Olten labor inspectors during the campaign were the reduction of the negative social and economic consequences deriving from non-compliance with the legal provisions, by employers from car services; elimination of the non-conformities found, by ordering mandatory measures to remedy the non-conformities and applying the corresponding contraventional sanctions; increasing the level of awareness of employers and workers, regarding the need to comply with legal provisions in the fields of labor relations and occupational safety and health.
