The thieves were caught in time by the law enforcement officers who stalked them for eight months and studied their way of operating. The three thieves, as it is about them, were not afraid of the surveillance cameras. They did their work with several rings, being convinced that they will go home with more than 10 state-of-the-art mobile phones.
One of the thieves was caught breaking the locker, while the other two criminals ran away and were caught in a village in Timiș and Alba. The men were reportedly hunting for expensive home appliances and mobile phones. They often placed orders online and chose to pay cash on delivery when picking up their parcels from easybox.
Sometimes they got lucky and after the 36-hour easybox storage period expired, they hacked the courier app and generated QR codes to unlock the lockers and go home with the parcels. It seems that the acts of the thieves made the couriers and customers think twice, who choose to take out insurance for these parcels, according to Observatornews.ro.

The 20- and 24-year-olds stole mobile phones in particular, causing a damage of 31,000 lei.
The one who noticed the criminals’ way of operating was even the director of the company, who caught them on the surveillance cameras while they were stealing. “On January 5, the policemen of Timișoara Rural Police Section 1 were alerted by the director of a commercial company in the area of Remetea Mare, regarding the fact that between November and December 2023, two employees of the company had appropriated more many parcels containing mobile phones and the sum of 9,000 lei, thus causing a damage of approximately 31,000 lei.

The police officers carried out checks, and shortly after they identified two young men, aged 20 and 24, suspected of committing the act.
