Irregularities found by ITM Hunedoara inspectors in the field of vehicle maintenance and repair

Between 23.04.2024 and 26.04.2024, the Hunedoara Territorial Labor Inspectorate carried out the national control campaign to verify the manner in which the legal provisions regarding the conclusion and execution of individual employment contracts are respected, as well as the minimum requirements for safety and health at work, to employers operating in the field of vehicle maintenance and repair – CAEN code 452.

In the field of activity “Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles – CAEN code 452”, workers are exposed to a wide range of workplace injury risks, such as slipping on wet floors, insufficient ventilation, extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, the risk of poisoning by chemicals used in the car wash process, long periods of standing for employees, repetitive activities, electrical or other improvisations on work equipment, stress caused to employees due to inappropriate customer behavior, incorrect electrical work equipment used in wet environments, the risk of injury due to improper handling of vehicles in the car wash premises, the risk of electrocution and the use of specific work equipment (lifting installations and pressure containers – subject to ISCIR authorization procedures).

In the field of labor relations, the legal regulations regarding the employment of personnel (including the submission of individual employment contracts in REVISAL within the legal term), the duration of working time and overtime work, the preparation of records of working hours provided by employees, were checked in particular. periodic breaks (weekly rest, public holidays), establishing and granting salary rights.

As part of this control campaign, 31 controls were carried out in the fields of safety and health at work and labor relations, a total of 31 deficiencies were found, for which measures were ordered to remedy the non-conformities found and comply with the provisions legal.

At the same time, a total of 23 contraventional sanctions were applied, including a fine of 4,000 lei.

Through each control action, ITM Hunedoara aims to increase the awareness of employers and workers regarding the need to comply with legal provisions in the fields of labor relations and safety and health at work, reducing the negative social and economic consequences that derive from non-compliance with legal provisions and eliminating the non-conformities found, by ordering mandatory measures to remedy the non-conformities and applying the corresponding contraventional sanctions.
