Almost 1,750 people were registered and more than 1,270 drivers were tested for alcohol or drugs, as part of the actions carried out by the police in Bihor, in the integrated system, at the end of the week. More than 750 sanctions were applied and 50 driving licenses were suspended.

Between April 26 and 28, the police officers of the Bihor County Police Inspectorate carried out extensive actions in an integrated system, to prevent and combat risky situations, acts committed with violence or driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances. Also, the actions of the Bihor police officers aimed at combating the driving of vehicles on public roads with excessive speed or not adapted to the road conditions.

The actions of the Bihor policemen were aimed at maintaining a climate of order and public safety among the local community, by carrying out specific, punctual actions, with increased numbers, both within the Oradea municipality and within the Bihor county.

Thus, at the end of the week, 24 preventive-reactive actions were carried out, in an integrated system, and 14 filters were carried out, involving 320 police officers from public order structures, traffic police, criminal investigations, weapons, explosives and dangerous substances, transports and fighters from special actions, 208 gendarmes, but also border police and representatives of other law enforcement structures.

During the actions, 1,749 people were registered. Also, 1,279 tests were carried out to detect the consumption of alcohol or drugs.

As a result of the actions and controls carried out, the Bihor police applied, in total, 759 contraventional sanctions, with fines in the amount of 324,821 lei.

At the same time, 24 crimes were detected, of which 16 related to the road traffic regime, three related to Law no. 143/2000 on combating drug trafficking and illicit consumption and five other crimes.

Of the total sanctions, 471 were applied for non-compliance with the road traffic regime on public roads. Of these, 336 were for exceeding the legal speed limits, 37 sanctions were for failure to comply with the legal provisions on wearing a seat belt, eight sanctions were for driving under the influence of alcohol, six were sanctioned for illegal overtaking, three sanctions were for not using, during the day, meeting lights or daytime traffic lights, 10 cyclists were fined, four fines were for lack of ITP, three for not giving priority to passing vehicles, two for using a mobile phone at the wheel without the type system “free hands”, and 62 sanctions were for other violations.

At the same time, the Bihor police detained 50 driving licenses and 44 registration certificates.

Detected by the police in traffic, while driving, after allegedly consuming psychoactive substances

On April 28, at 5:39 p.m., on DN76, in the town of Hidișelu de Sus, Bihor county, the policemen of the Road Service – National and European Roads Bureau detected a 37-year-old man in traffic, from the municipality of Satu Mare, Satu Mare county , while driving a car, on the suspicion that he had consumed psychoactive substances.

Following the preliminary testing, with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.

We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances.

In the case, a criminal case was drawn up, and the policemen of the Bihor Road Service are continuing the investigations regarding the commission of the crime of driving a vehicle on public roads by a person who was under the influence of psychoactive substances, under the supervision of a prosecutor.

Detected by police in traffic, while driving under the influence of alcohol

On April 28, at 5:20 p.m., on DN76, in the town of Dușești, Bihor county, the policemen of the Beiuș Road Bureau detected a 43-year-old man in traffic, from the municipality of Oradea, Bihor county, while he was driving a car, having an alcohol concentration of 0.56 mg/l pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Also on April 28, on DN76, in the town of Sânmartin, Bihor county, the police from the Băile Felix station police detected a 69-year-old man from the city of Bucharest in traffic, while driving a car, with an alcohol concentration of 0.45 mg/l pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Also, on April 27, at 10:35 p.m., on communal road 90, in the town of Gurbediu, Bihor county, the policemen of Section No. 8 of the Tinca Rural Police spotted a 36-year-old man from the town of Husăsău de Tinca in traffic , Bihor county, while driving a car, having an alcohol concentration of 0.41 mg/l pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Biological samples were collected from the drivers in order to determine their blood alcohol level.

In each of the cases, a criminal case was drawn up, and the police continue the investigation into the commission of the crime of driving a vehicle on public roads under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

Detained by the police, after being spotted in traffic, while driving with a canceled license and under the influence of alcohol

On April 29, following the administration of the evidence, the police officers of Section No. 3 of the Biharia Rural Police ordered the detention, for 24 hours, in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center of the Bihor County Police Inspectorate against a 50-year-old man , from the town of Diosig, Bihor county, suspected of committing the crime of driving a vehicle on public roads by a person who was under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle on public roads by a person whose driving license has been cancelled.

On April 28, at around 10:30 p.m., on Horea street in Diosig township, Bihor county, he was spotted in traffic by the policemen of Section No. 3 of the Biharia Rural Police, while driving a car, with an alcohol concentration of 1.36 mg/l pure alcohol in breath.

At the same time, following the checks carried out by the police, it was found that the man has canceled the right to drive vehicles on public roads.

Biological samples were collected from the person in question in order to determine his blood alcohol level.

The police officers of Section No. 3 of the Biharia Rural Police continue the investigations in the case under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court.

On the same day, at around 1:00 p.m., on Dimitrie Cantemir street in the municipality of Oradea, he was spotted in traffic by the policemen of the Oradea Road Bureau, while driving a car, on the suspicion that he had consumed psychoactive substances.

After testing the man with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.
