What a leader of the Oltenia EC is preparing for Gorjeni politicians – GorjOnline

Manu Tomescu is one of the union leaders within the Oltenia Energy Complex who, for two years, protested the application of Law no. 197/2021, which reduces the retirement age in mining and energy.

The vice-president of the Rovinari Energy Union does not forgive the Gorje politicians who did not put their shoulder to unlocking the normative act which, even today, is not fully applied, in the sense that miners and energy workers cannot enjoy all its benefits. Under these conditions, the vice-president of the Rovinari Energy Union announces that he will make things difficult for the leaders of the PNL and PSD Gorj in the parliamentary elections this autumn. “I, now, abstain from these elections, because they are mayoral elections, because the person chooses his household, the mayor, not the party, and the person matters more. But at the parliamentary elections we must remember them, let’s sleep on the stairs of the PNL and PSD parties, if there is still a PNL. I tell them that pensioners are doing very well to protest. In the fall, at the parliamentary elections, we have to be riding them, because they lied to us. I remember Mr. Weber, who was our brother. When there were protests, that we started the protest against the closure plan, when USR and PNL were in government and PSD was in opposition, there was not a week when Mr. Weber and Mr. Manta did not come to us. They said: “We are coming to the government, when we have the Minister of Labor, the law will apply”. They lied to us and broke us up. Until we went and did the hunger strike in Bucharest, until Ciolacu came and waited for us with the files on the table, only lies, that, in practice, this is what they were aiming for, to extend the non-application of Law 197 until September 1, 2024 That was their strategy,” says the trade unionist.
