Moved 24 years ago to a village in Sibiu, a Dutch woman is looking for someone to continue her business: “So far I haven’t found anyone”

Agnes Jansen moved almost a quarter of a century ago to the village of Sărata, Sibiu county, writes the local publication Turnul Sfatului, which takes over a material presented by TVR. He set up a vegetable microfarm in the Sibiu village, but now he wants to retire and is looking for people passionate about organic farming to continue his work.

With a small farm, Agnes delivers vegetables on a subscription basis.

“So far we haven’t found anyone. It is also good for the members of the partnership, but also for the farmer. I would like to retire a little or gradually. Ideally it would not be one person because it is a lot of work for one, and our partnership can have a greater capacity, because the demand is there. The person or persons in question must have a great motivation for nature, for organic farming and have a structured way of thinking. Not everyone who makes an onion and a tomato makes 45 vegetables,” said the Dutch woman.

She believes that the future belongs to micro farms. “In Romania there is a lot of advertising in which we are redirected to big companies, to have a farm as large as possible, with success, with sales, but for the future of the planet you must know that 70% of the food produced globally, which we consume is made in a micro-farm, not in large farms (…), said the Dutch woman for the Agrointeligența show, from TVR.
