Tragedy in Olt: A man stabbed his wife on the street. The woman died at the hospital, and the aggressor was caught by the police

A 37-year-old man from the town of Dragăneşti-Olt stabbed his wife on a street on Monday, April 29, after which he fled the scene.

Witnesses to the event called 112. An ambulance arrived at the scene and gave the victim first aid, after which he was transported to the hospital.

“On April 29, 2024, at around 3:00 p.m., the Olt County Police Inspectorate was notified, by calling 112, about the fact that a man allegedly stabbed a woman, on Căpitan Drăgănescu street in the town of Drăgăneşti-Olt , after which he would have fled in an unknown direction. The police from the Drăgăneşti-Olt Police Department went to the scene”, reported IPJ Olt.

The cited source stated that the 37-year-old man, while he was on Căpitan Drăgănescu street, amid an intra-family conflict, would have hit his 37-year-old wife several times with a sharp-cutting object in the chest area.

“The woman was transported to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital, where she died. Following investigative-operative activities, the police identified the man suspected of committing the crime on Livezilor Street in the city of Dragăneşti-Olt, who was taken to the police headquarters for questioning.” the cited source also transmitted.
