On Monday morning, Romania sent new humanitarian aid for the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, namely food products and military equipment – tents, sleeping bags, beds, etc. – in the total value of 8.2 million lei.

“Romania continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. During the morning a new shipment was sent with food and munitions – tents, sleeping bags, beds, etc. – in the total amount of 8.2 million lei, made available by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues”, announces the Executive.

The decision to grant these products was taken within the National Committee for Emergency Situations, led by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

According to the cited source, the transport is carried out with national resources up to the HUB set up by the European Union Commission in the Republic of Cyprus. Later, through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, humanitarian aid is transported between the Republic of Cyprus and the Gaza Strip with the help of specialized UN agencies.
