The unemployment rate registered at the national level was 3.14% at the end of March 2024, up from 3.06% compared to the previous month, informs the National Employment Agency (ANOFM).

According to the data provided by economic agents regarding job vacancies, in the records of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), only 47,993 jobs were available at the national level.
The total number of unemployed at the end of March 2024 was 252,588 people, of which 54,864 were unemployed with compensation and 197,724 without compensation, states ANOFM, in a press release.

The number of unemployed people with compensation decreased by 1,840, and the number of unemployed without compensation increased by 7,727 people, compared to the previous month.

69,664 unemployed come from urban areas and 182,924 unemployed come from rural areas.

Unemployed women totaled, on March 31, 118,939 people, while the number of unemployed men was 133,649 people.

Most of the unemployed were between 40 and 49 years old (65,241), followed by those over 55 years old (55,308), at the opposite pole were people between 25 and 29 years old (15,359).

Regarding the structure of unemployment according to the level of education, the unemployed with no education and those with primary education predominate, in the total number of unemployed registered in the ANOFM records (30.60%).

The unemployed with secondary education level represent 34.52% of the total registered unemployed, and those with university education 4.68%.
