The City Hall of Oradea, through the Directorate for Management of Projects with International Financing (DMPFI), has submitted for financing the project “Urban mobility corridor Decebal – Vladimirescu and the purchase of 8 electric buses” through the Regional Program North – West 2021 – 2027, Call for projects 481.A – ” Increased use of public transport and other environmentally friendly forms of urban mobility – County seat municipalities.”

The passage located at the intersection between B-dul Decebal and Tudor Vladimirescu str. is in the public tender stage of the works. At the same time, the public tender for electric buses is being finalized.

The value of the submitted project is 112,131,835.98 lei, of which the non-refundable amount is 44,938,952.50 lei.

The width of the carriageway will be 13 m, with 4 traffic lanes of 3.25 m each and 2 traffic lanes in each direction.

Pedestrian traffic will be ensured by the proposed sidewalks along the Boulevard, and crossing over the passage will be done by pedestrian crossings in the area of the road shoulders and connecting sidewalks located in the green area. In order not to create traffic jams on the boulevard, the crossing of Decebal Boulevard will be made through a reinforced concrete pedestrian underpass, provided for both pedestrians and people with disabilities.

The objectives of this project are: decongesting road traffic at peak hours, creating a green wave for public transport, reducing C02 equivalent emissions (greenhouse gases), modernizing and expanding the public lighting system, placing elements to improve road safety (signalistic)

In addition to these, the objectives related to the need to modernize the intersection between Tudor Vladimirescu Street and Decebal Boulevard are also identified. This objective will be achieved through the project by building the underpass at the intersection of the two streets.

All this will improve the quality of the natural environment by eliminating the sources of pollution that were generated by vehicles due to traffic with long waiting times. Thus, easier access to the area will be ensured and waiting times in traffic will decrease. At the same time, the economic space will develop by facilitating access to the area.
