The business environment in Cluj county can be supported by creating an Exhibition Center, said USR deputy Viorel Băltărețu, candidate of the United Right Alliance for the position of mayor of Cluj, in an interview for monitorulcj.ro.

USR deputy Viorel Băltărețu, candidate for Cluj-Napoca City Hall, explained that Cluj County needs an Exhibition Center to be able to develop the business environment. He explained that the existence of a Center could attract various entrepreneurs.
“A very important thing is the creation of an Exhibition Center. I experienced something like this from my perspective as an entrepreneur. I was in Romania. I went to Germany, Austria. It’s an entire industry around an Exhibition Centre. Congresses can also take place within the Exhibition Center. Cluj needs something like this. We need it if we want to become a regional pole in Eastern and Central Europe. There is a dedicated field. It belongs to the County Council. There near Emerson, between Bulevardul Muncii and Someș. There’s a catch there. We know very well that we have a problem. The County Council has a lot of land, but no money. The municipality has no land, but it has money. Everyone must sit at the same table and talk. I believe in this thing where we work together. The Exhibition Center would greatly help the economy, because it would develop around the center. There should be a fair on various fields every 2-3 weeks. Exhibitions will bring people and companies to exhibit. Exhibitions develop business tourism. The Exhibition Center will help the HORECA industry, because that means people who will come to Cluj and look for business partners, come and settle here. We will generate business through this Center. Many congresses are held in Cluj-Napoca even now. What can be done now in Cluj is limited by space. When there is this Center with large halls, we will increase the type of congresses, their size, their notoriety. The Exhibition and Congress Center is a must if we want to be a regional leader. Mr. Boc lacks vision. He keeps telling us about the smart city. But what is smart in Cluj?”, declared Viorel Băltărețu.
“Digitalization of local administration, a need”
Viorel Băltărețu (USR) specified that Cluj-Napoca municipality also needs a digitized local administration, so that entrepreneurs who want to build in the city receive any type of authorization as quickly as possible.
“As an authority I can deal with infrastructure. It matters a lot for the investor if he comes and says he wants to build a factory or a center in Cluj. If it takes him 7 years to get the building permit he might not want it anymore. We have to have a completely different approach. As an authority, I can still make that single point of contact to have a relationship for entrepreneurs as simple as possible with the City Hall. This means digitization in the City Hall. It means having clear, simple, predictable processes with clear deadlines. We absolutely need the digitization of the authorization system. The economy must go. Metropolitan areas and the city are in competition. Not necessarily with Oradea or Bucharest. We are EU partners. We are competing with Debrecen, Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Graz. At some point the entrepreneurs will say they want to come to Cluj. The town hall then has the obligation to create the most favorable environment for business people”, said Viorel Băltărețu, for monitorulcj.
USR deputy Viorel Băltărețu, the candidate of the United Right Alliance for the position of mayor of Cluj, is one of the entrepreneurs from Cluj who have succeeded, starting from scratch, in developing competitive companies, with activity not only in Romania, but also in Europe. He created and developed, since 2003, a furniture production company for the HoReCa field. He has also invested in and mentored other SMEs and startups, brave local initiatives.
