The Flower Pilgrimage from the Capital takes place on Saturday, from the Radu Vodă Monastery to the Patriarchal Cathedral. The procession was preceded by the blessing of the willow branches carried by the pilgrims.

The procession takes place along the Mărăşeşti Boulevard route, Dimitrie Cantemir Boulevard, Unirii Square (East and North sides), Sfântul Anton Church – Curtea Veche (16:45 – first stop) – Unirii Square (West side), Brâncovenească Crucea (17: 15 – second stop), Colina Bucuriei, according to News.ro.

At the stop at the Church of Saint Anton – Curtea Veche, the procession will be met by the priests and believers of this church.

The procession will end at the Patriarchal Cathedral, around 5:45 p.m., where the pilgrims will be welcomed by the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, who will consecrate the icon of the feast of “The Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem”, will say the blessing prayer for the pilgrims and address a word of wisdom.

Christians celebrate Palm Sunday or Palm Sunday, which marks the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, where he was greeted by believers holding olive and palm branches. The Flower Festival is one of the most important of the year and opens the Easter holidays.
