Last night Petrol supporters graffitied several buildings in the center of Sibiu, including the newly renovated passage. The Local Police will identify them by the images

Several supporters of the Petrolul Ploiesti football team, probably disappointed after the defeat to FC Hermannstadt, vandalized a number of buildings in the historic center of Sibiu last night. Among the objectives scribbled with signs related to the football gallery is the pedestrian passage that connects Piața Mică with Avram Iancu street, a passage that had just been renovated and reopened to traffic.

Those who polluted the center of Sibiu also wrote the name of the gallery in graffiti and other distinctive elements. Below are some photos taken this morning:

Contacted by the Turnul Sfatului reporter, representatives of the Sibiu City Hall stated that the authors of the graffiti were filmed and will be fined. They will also have to pay the costs of restoring the pedestrian crossing.

“After the match between FC Hermannstadt and Petrolul Ploiești held on Thursday, April 25, at the Sibiu Municipal Stadium, around 10:00 p.m., 5 people from the Petrolul Ploiești team gallery came to Piața Mică. They smeared graffiti on the walls of the passage between Piața Mică and Avram Iancu str. and several buildings on Av. Iancu, Gh. Lazăr and General Magheru, appearing on the surveillance cameras while they were committing this antisocial act.

The Local Police will continue the investigations and identify the persons concerned with the help of the surveillance cameras at the Municipal Stadium and by checking the tickets issued for the match.

The fine they will have to pay is 6,000 lei/person, to which will be added the costs of repainting the buildings they have soiled. We specify that Sibiu City Hall redid the painting in the Piața Mică passage – Avram Iancu str. last week”, Sibiu City Hall officials informed.

Context

The supporters of Petrolu Ploiești stand out during the team’s trips with their antisocial gestures and acts devoid of common sense. Earlier this week they were involved in a brawl in Arad, their team playing UTA. The match was even interrupted so that the Gendarmerie could intervene in the stands.

In addition, at the end of last week, Petrolului Ploiești supporters also took part in acts of violence in Italy, going to the match between Salernitana and Fiorentina on Sunday. 15 officers were injured, including 12 from the mobile unit in Naples and 3 from the police headquarters in Salerno following clashes with fans. A police officer suffered several burns due to a smoke detector that exploded a few centimeters away from him, local media reports.
