Former mayor Daniel Tudorache, sent to court in the Diamantelor File, announced his candidacy for District 1 City Hall on Friday.

“Tomorrow, April 27, at 1:00 p.m., at the electoral office in sector 1, I will officially submit my candidacy for the position of mayor of this sector! I promised the citizens that I will run and I will! I promise that I will remove sector 1 from the mess and garbage in which hundreds of thousands of Romanians are suffocating. I promise to exterminate the entire surface of the sector and I take it upon myself to undo all the hallucinatory decisions made by the Clotilde group over the past years! The slogan launched by the citizens of sector 1, “We want the mayor back”, compels me and drives me to fight for it”, says Daniel Tudorache, in a post on Facebook.

He is a PSD deputy, but PSD supports George Tuță together with PNL in District 1.

Tudorache would run as an independent.

At the beginning of March 2022, Daniel Tudorache was sent to court by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate for complicity in influence peddling and money laundering, being placed under judicial control on bail with a value of 1,000,000 euros.

In the same file, the mayor’s ex-wife is on trial for complicity in money laundering.
