CSU Suceava became national youth champion in men’s handball. In the final held in Plopeni, in Prahova, the team coached by Vasile Boca defeated Cluj University with a score of 32-28.
A few days after winning the title of national vice-champion in Juniors 1, CSU Suceava achieved a new performance in Romanian youth handball. The university students became national youth champions on Thursday. The team coached by Vasile Boca had a perfect course at the final tournament organized in Plopeni, in Prahova.
CSU Suceava passed CSM Vaslui 37 to 27 in the quarterfinals, CSM Focșani 28 to 22 in the semifinals, and in the grand final it defeated Cluj University 32 to 28, at halftime 18 to 12.
In addition to the big trophy, the group from Suceava also won 5 individual awards. Iulian Roșu was named the best left winger, Alexandru Reuț the best left winger, Alexandru Focșăneanu the best pivot, Codrin Radu the best right winger, and Andrei Bruj the best defender. Coach Vasile Boca also bet on Dragoș Podovei, Răzvan Rîpa, Ștefan Leonte, Sorin Grigore, Emanuel Șerban, Andrei Rață, Codrin Dascălu, Eduard Rusu, Bogdan Niculaie, Teodor Iluca and Teodor Musneagu for the final tournament.
