The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, invited to the LIVE show with Rotaru and Kiss from Digi24, made clarifications about how our country is helping Ukraine, given that their energy infrastructure is increasingly being attacked by the Russians.

“It’s true, Russian attacks are increasingly targeting the energy infrastructure in Ukraine and have recently started targeting gas deposits as well. It does not affect the gas itself because it is at very deep depths, but it affects the surface infrastructure. Every time the Ukrainians asked us for that emergency energy that allows to compensate for those destructions that actually lead to a lack of electricity production, Romania was present and Transelectrica delivered this emergency energy in commercial terms, and I emphasize , no discounts were made for the Ukrainian side, nor were they requested,” said Burduja.

The Minister of Energy emphasized that the Ukrainians paid every time Romania sent energy and mentioned that our country could help Ukraine restore the energy infrastructure with “an emergency solution”.

“They pay for it and they have asked us recently to see if we have older equipment that fits especially with this ex-Soviet area and that they could take over. Maybe it’s equipment from former coal-fired power plants that we don’t use anymore, they want to pay for it and now we’re doing an x-ray in the former power plants or even in the older gas plants to see what equipment we could deliver,” said the minister Energy.
