The largest educational center in Eastern Europe will be built in Ilfov. The campus, spread over 27 hectares, in the town of Măgurele, will have a kindergarten, a school, a high school, 500 accommodation places for students, reading rooms, sports rooms and a swimming pool. The construction of the center will take about two years.

This is what the new educational center in Ilfov county will look like, the most modern in Romania and in Eastern Europe. The campus will have a kindergarten with a thousand places, primary and secondary school for 1,500 students and even a high school. In total, over 3,500 children will be able to learn here.

“In addition to modern classrooms and a lot of spaces for extracurricular activities, I mean here a gym, sports fields, a swimming pool, a very large library, conference spaces. We try to offer them a quality education , a modern education”, said Hubert Thuma, president of the Ilfov County Council.

“It represents education at the next level in Ilfov, which means that more than 60,000 children have the opportunity to learn in excellent conditions in the future”, said Simona Niculae, prefect of Ilfov county.

“This project is done in an association. The County Council comes with the financing, and we, the Măgurele City Hall, come with the land on which the campus will be built”, explained Narcis Constantin, the mayor of Măgurele.

A generous land of over 27 hectares, which is commensurate with the growing number of children in the county.

“Ilfovul experienced the largest demographic share. We must come up with some clear, sustainable solutions. The buildings are designed to respond to this nZeb component, i.e. to be sustainable, let’s talk about zero energy”, said Olivia Oprescu, the architect- head of Ilfov county.

“This is what the Romanians want, this is what the people of Ilfove want: to have a school where they would love to send their children. Because the people of Ilfove will no longer take their children to Bucharest, but will bring them to Măgurele”, argued Nicoleta Pauliuc, PNL senator.

Other localities in the county have also taken measures to ensure that there are enough places in the educational units.

The feasibility study of the Măgurele campus is already underway and the necessary funding is available. Construction of the educational center will begin next summer, and officials estimate it will take about two years.
