On Thursday, the authorities ordered the preventive evacuation of 20 people after the collapse of a street in the town of Slănic, Prahova county, on an area of over 60 square meters, the depth of the crater being about two meters.
Also, the affected area was closed to traffic, restrictions being imposed. At the same time, the head of the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), Raed Arafat, announced that a team of experts assessed the situation created by the landslide. The group of engineers traveled to the site by air.
Prahova Prefecture announced that witnesses were installed in the affected area to verify the movement of the land. The representatives of the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) stated that the intervention is still dynamic.
The town of Slănic sits on a salt mine, and the authorities have announced that there are galleries two thousand years old in the basement.
