Thus, at 9:30 a.m., the country’s consumption was 7,071 MW, production – 4,919 MW, and the import-export balance was 2,172 MW in favor of import.

At the mentioned time, our country imported the most from Bulgaria, but also from Hungary and Serbia.

At the same time, a quantity of 345 MW was exported from our country to Ukraine, via the Republic of Moldova.

Today’s large energy shortfall comes against the backdrop of very low electricity production from renewable sources: just 237 MW of solar (out of 1,500 MW of installed capacity – excluding prosumers) and 69 MW of wind (out of a total of 3,000 MW) .

Almost half of the domestic electricity production is generated by hydropower plants (2,200 MW), the Cernavodă plant produces 1,355 MW, coal plants – 611 MW and hydrocarbon plants – 406 MW.
