Two minor traffickers ended up behind bars. A young man and a woman were “jumped” by masked men, after issuing the warrants for the execution of the prison sentence.

On April 23, the police officers from the Criminal Investigation Service found a 22-year-old man from Brăila, on whose behalf the Brăila Court issued a warrant for the execution of the prison sentence of 4 years and 8 months, for committing the crime of traffic of minors. “The young man in question was found at home, being under the preventive measure of house arrest, under the supervision of the Judicial Supervision Bureau“, said the policemen.
Also, following specific activities, the police found a 35-year-old woman from Brăila, in whose name the Brăila Court issued a warrant for the execution of the prison sentence of 5 years and 8 months. She is convicted for committing the crimes of trafficking minors and forming an organized criminal group.
The persons in question are incarcerated in the Galati Maximum Security Penitentiary.

Also on Tuesday, the police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service acted together with the Brăila Organized Crime Fighting Service, according to specific attributions, to track down a national and international wanted person. “Within the municipality of Covasna, following specific activities, the police detected a 29-year-old man from Brăila, on whose name the Arad Court issued a preventive arrest warrant for 30 days for committing the crimes of forming an organized criminal group and trafficking of migrants”the representatives of the Brăila County Police Inspectorate sent.

The 29-year-old was incarcerated in the Brăila Detention and Preventive Arrest Center.

On the same occasion, the police found a 15-year-old minor from Brăila, wanted at national and international level, as a result of his disappearance from a DGASPC center (Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection) being taken over to be handed over to the center’s representatives.
The police will continue to act within the county to prevent any road incidents and to ensure a climate of order and public safety!

Child traffickers caught by DIICOT prosecutors and arrested

According to the data sent by the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), on October 4, 2022, the prosecutors of the Brăila Territorial Office, together with police officers from the Brăila Organized Crime Service, carried out 11 searches residential, within the radius of Brăila municipality. Action was taken in a case regarding the commission of the crimes of forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, trafficking of minors and sexual intercourse with a minor. “In the case, it was noted that, starting from January 2020, several defendants sexually exploited, in the country and abroad, 10 injured persons, including 7 minors. 37 people were taken to DIICOT – Brăila Territorial Office for questioning. Following the hearings, the prosecutors ordered the detention of 4 defendants for 24 hours and the taking of judicial control measures for 60 days against one defendant. On October 5, the judge of rights and liberties of the Brăila Court ordered the measure of preventive arrest with regard to 3 defendants and the measure of house arrest with respect to the fourth defendant.“, the prosecutors said.

As shown on the website of the Brăila Court, at the meeting on October 5, the magistrates partially accepted the proposal of DIICOT – Brăila Territorial Office. The preventive arrest of three defendants was ordered, for a period of 30 days, as well as the house arrest of the defendant Ilie Ionuț, being the one convicted and now taken to prison.

Also in the DIICOT file, the 35-year-old woman from Brăila, Spătaru Elena, was also sentenced to prison, as shown on the court’s website.

The final sentence in this case was given on April 23 at the Galati Court of Appeal. “Accept the appeal declared by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice – DIICOT – Brăila Territorial Office against criminal sentence no. 116/01.08.2023 of the Brăila Court. Abolish in part the appealed criminal sentence. Applies to the defendant Safta Zabar, in addition to the main penalty of 4 years imprisonment for committing the crime of sexual intercourse with a minor in a continuous form, the complementary penalty of the prohibition of the exercise of rights. It orders the confiscation and subsequent destruction of the 2.26 grams of cannabis remaining from the analyzed samples, submitted to the Criminal Bodies Chamber of IPJ Constanța. Maintains the arrest status of the defendants Ciobotaru Ciprian Petruş, Safta Zabar and Safta Nicolae Robert. Declares that the measure of judicial control ordered regarding the defendant Spătaru Elena has been terminated by law; the measure of house arrest ordered regarding the defendant Ilie Ionuţ (…)”, is the CA Galati solution.
