The Romanian Post can distribute the pensions before the Easter holidays, but the process depends on the date the company receives the money, said, on Wednesday, the general director of the state postal operator, Valentin Ştefan, in a press conference.

“The short answer is «Yes, we can deliver the pensions until the holidays». Now let me give you some details. May 2nd is a working day. We will work in the company. Secondly, we have the logistical capacity to deliver the pensions until holidays. Now, it depends on when the money comes into our accounts from the National Treasury, from the Ministry of Labor. Depending on when we will receive the money, we will know if we will ask the employees to come to work on days off or not, whether we are talking about May 1 or whether we are talking about May 3. In principle, if we get the money later, we would need only one non-working day to call them to work to distribute pensions, but for now we cannot come up with a clear answer, because we don’t know when the money comes into our accounts said Valentin Stefan.

He explained that the Post usually receives the pension money a few days before the 1st of the month. Under these conditions, if the money will enter the accounts on Friday, April 26, the pensions will be able to be delivered to the beneficiaries faster. Even if the amounts come in on Monday, all pensions can be distributed by the holidays, he assured.

According to the general director of the Romanian Post Office, approximately 14,000 employees are involved in the distribution of pensions, of which 10,000 are postmen.
