BREAK FREE – an essential project for the prevention of drug use among young people

On Wednesday in the municipality of Gheorgheni, the first session of the BREAK FREE project took place, an initiative aimed at combating drug use among teenagers.

In partnership with the Harghita County Police Inspectorate through the Crime Analysis and Prevention Department and carried out by the Gheorgheni Rotary Club, the project aimed to increase awareness among young people about the serious consequences of consuming prohibited substances.

At the event held at the Sf. Nicolae Theoretical High School, students from grades VIII-XII participated, who had the opportunity to interact with specialists and motivational speakers. Among them were Mr. Kiss Robert-psychiatrist, Mrs. Gall Katalin-psychologist, the young HAO – who shared his own experience with drug addiction, and Codoiu Radu, personal trainer and motivational speaker.

The main purpose of the event was to encourage teenagers to take a proactive attitude towards the temptations of drug use and to seek the support of families, friends and educational mentors they trust. The importance of seeking specialist help when needed was also emphasized.

The BREAK FREE project stands out as an initiative of great relevance in the fight against drug use, while promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. This action is an important step towards creating a more informed and responsible community regarding the issue of the use of prohibited substances.
