Several readers have sent us images of personal cars covered with a layer of reddish-colored dust, the origin of which is the Sahara desert. The phenomenon is more persistent in areas where it has rained. The National Meteorological Administration announced that in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 24, the air mass loaded with Saharan dust will move to the northeast.
Images of cars covered by a fine layer of sand, after the specialists announced a new wave of Saharan dust crossing Romania, were sent to us by numerous readers from several localities of Prahova since the early hours of the morning.

Doctors warn that this dust easily penetrates the lungs and causes local irritation. Fine Saharan dust in the air mainly affects people with respiratory problems, the elderly and animals.
